County Manager

Mr. Tom Dowling, Meath County Manager (tdowling@meathcoco.ie) is the Designated County Manager in the Mid-East Region for the two year period 2009-2011. In 1996 the Minister for the Environment & Local Government provided for the designation of a City/County Manager in each Authority who is responsible for relations with the Regional Authority and to improve co-ordination and linkage with and between local authorities.

The Designated County Manager is required to submit periodic reports to the Regional Authority on plans being taken by local authorities in the region to promote the proper co-ordination of their policies and programmes.
